RE: Urban Legends

This a bogus urban legend disproved many times. Not so far fetched anymore though. I thought it was bogus. Did you see the one about Congress bailing out Wall street? Like, Dah! Who is going to believe that one? :) Got this e-mail the other day Works for me!! > > Subject: FW: The Birk Economic Recovery Plan > > Hi Pals, > > I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 (85 billion dollar) bailout of AIG. > > Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a "We > Deserve It Dividend." > > To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bona-fide > U.S. Citizens 18+. > > Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and > child. RE: Tow Truck cost for a Motorhome.

Towing my 40' motorhome 90 miles cost $650 and Coach Net paid the entire bill. A friend had his 38' motorhome towed 150 miles (he was in the boonies) and it cost $950 which CAT paid under warranty. I had pretty much the same scenerio and coach-net paid the bill.I used them on my family cars and have never had a problem.FWIW, if they do send the wrong tow truck, chances are it's the garage that screwed up the call.I had a driver tell me they will take a chance with whatever is availible.Thats why they bombard you with survey calls after a tow. They really do use the feedback.

RE: Easy fix it tip for LOUD water pumps...

That would work. Most pump noise is the hard plastic water lines resonating the pump noise. A foot of flexible hose at pump inlet and outlet will curb that noise.

RE: What can a United Kingdom Person Drive ?

Stay on the right side of the road. This should be your only issue ,just take it easy till you get used to it.Watch the rear overhang also. When I rented my first class c years ago,I almost took out a couple gas pumps because I turned to sharply.Good Luck.

RE: Running External Generator While Traveling: OK or Not OK?

Look at any phone company or national grid truck and you will see an exposed genset.I have seen them running in the rain outside my house.Just keep it covered when not using.

RE: Question of the day

We searched for another JT last year on petfinder.com and after filling out all kinds of applications,we finally agreed to spend $400.00 from a no kill shelter 3 hours away.We were in touch with the foster mom by phone for two weeks and everything was going well in the planning to pick him up.On the way there ,3 kids with us in the MH,the women calls and says she's not letting him get adopted, she had grown attached.Thats professional, huh? We ended up going to a breeder and paying the same.Adopting a dog has become to much work, that was the 2nd bad time we had adopting. What happened to the day you could go to a shelter with $25.00 in hand and get your kid a nice dog?

RE: Review: tennis ball trailer alignment kit

I made my own out of thin threaded rod and some magnet bases bought at a dollar hardware store.I only used them a couple times, but they have a purpose.

RE: Beware! Moose are on the move in NH (and VT)

Nothing like that feeling of just missing a 700lb moose at 50mph.Happened to me and a couple hunting buddies.During the rut season anything goes, they move around protecting thier territory.A car is just another animal in thier way to mate.

RE: Check pressure Relief valve ??

These are generic and basically idiot proof. They are designed so if they do ever go bad they leak/open. BUT, leaking in most cases does not mean the valve is bad. RV systems are sealed so any increase in temperature such as the water heater provides create pressure and expansion of the water. Unlike home water heaters, RV water heaters are designed with an air pocket that can compress when the water heats/expands. This air can be absorbed over time and the valve will weep when the water heats up as it senses the expansion/increase in pressure. The cure is to partially or fully drain the water heater and refill this will create a new air pocket. Areas with extremely hard water may over time if you use the relief valve in draining the water heater may build up calcium deposits on the sealing surface and cause weeping as well. In that case rather than trying to clean them off we replace the valve. Believe it or not it's the same valve used on home hot water heaters. That's how generic they are. Thats it. Couldnt have said it better.

RE: What else can be done with turkey fryer pot?

On a cool weekend enough Gumbo for the whole campground. YUM Keep in mind that most of the pots that come with these cookers are so thin that most sauces or chowders have a good chance of scorching unless stirred a lot,on low heat.I burned a batch of seafood marinara once($45.00 worth of seafood)

RE: using water pump & "city water" together

I use an adjustible regulator that has a pressure guage built in to it.I bring it up to 60psi when I have a low flo situation. We have stayed at parks with over 90psi,not good for your plumbing.Very possible ,like others wrote , you may even have a faulty regulator or a restriction.I have worked on units that have never had there city water inlet screen cleaned since new.Thats going to reduce pressure.
